I believe that children learn best when they feel safe and valued and that relationships of mutual respect lay the foundation for meaningful learning. As a teacher of early childhood, I strive to instill a sense of purpose and belonging in each child and work to achieve this by highlighting student’s strengths and providing a space for children to express themselves and take risks. My approach to teaching focuses on balancing high expectations with experiences that are playful. I recognize that we live in a world where children are encouraged to grow up fast, and I believe we, as educators, can protect childhood and all of its wonders while still preparing students for an ever-evolving world. Working at The Nest has allowed me to weave naturally exciting and age-appropriate learning opportunities into the daily rhythms of students’ days.
