I am a firm believer that all children are naturally curious and that it is our responsibility as educators to help nurture a love for learning in each child. When I began working at The Wheeler School in the fall of 2020, I fondly remember the joy, laughter, and curiosity that filled Wheeler Farm. In a world facing social distancing and other barriers due to the pandemic, those then-third-graders ignited a shift in my path, inspiring me to pursue a career in education.

Today, when I’m in the classroom and on the trails, I hope to guide our students toward becoming aware of their own place in this world. Whether it be through our traditional lessons or daily discoveries in the forest, I hope to inspire students to think critically about the natural world while also providing them with a space to share their ideas. I believe strongly in the power of social-emotional learning. By modeling peer-to-peer relationships and guiding students in managing their emotions, I hope to support students in discovering their authentic selves. I am continually amazed by the creativity that each student brings to the classroom and I aspire to play a small role on their journey towards becoming upstanding citizens within our community.
