As a graduate of Bank Street College, I hold dear the tenets of progressive education and strive to keep them at the forefront of my practice. My constructivist approach to teaching and curriculum design places students at the helm of their learning.  I help them navigate challenges by providing them with authentic opportunities to observe objectively, think critically, and work collaboratively. 

During my 24-year career as a lower and middle school science teacher in both public and independent NYC schools, I have extensive experience with inquiry-based and hands-on science instruction. My goal is for students to experience science as integrated, alive, and connected to their daily lives. Having left the concrete carpets of NYC for the fields and forests of Wheeler Farm, I embrace the new challenge of teaching our earliest learners and utilizing the natural world as a science lab.
