Creativity, compassion, and communication are the cornerstones of my classroom culture. Creating an inviting and curiosity-driven environment is the heart of my work as a nursery teacher. Nursery education provides the foundation for the child’s future as a learner, so it is important to me that their experience in my class is joyous and meaningful. My background in theater and improv really color my approach to teaching. Learning to be in a group and talk to each other is an essential part of nursery education, and it is my favorite thing to teach. Every day brings new opportunities for growth, and it is amazing to see students come together to collaborate and solve interpersonal issues independently.
It is a joy to guide children on their entry into education and be part of this community of passionate educators, and having graduated from Wheeler in 2011, it has been such a blessing to return to my alma mater.
